GraphicRiver - Photograph To Sketch Art - Photoshop Action
[Image: QzCA9.jpg]

A Photoshop Action that will turn any picture into a full-blown hand-drawn sketch!

8 minute video tutorial included, so you can learn how to get the most out of it!

Update Log: Version 1.1 – 15th May 2011

– Fixed “could not complete the command because the selected area is empty” error.
No known current problems.

This action not only creates a sketchy hand drawn effect on your photos, it also
creates the paper texture needed for the effect itself! All you need, is a picture!

Included in the download package, is a link to an 8 minute video tutorial, where I
quickly and easily go through the action, so you know how to get the most out of it,
and how to get the coolest looking results.

Overview:

Import the action, and get instant sketches!

Works on any photo! Portrait, full body, and more!
Action only takes about 1 minute!
Creates sketch effect, AND paper effect!
Easy and simple to use!
Possibility to expand on the results!

An >English< version of Photoshop is needed for this effect.

RE: GraphicRiver
I could not get this one to work, I'm using CS6. 2 action commands error out, the other sketch action worked. Sad

Also CS6 has recursive filename issues with plugins and actions, usually xml errors, but if you get any panels which do not load, rename all files and folders for that plugin without spaces.

Still not working, I even followed the instructions below the video, all it is doing is working on the background, it does not touch the original image.

Oh Well, there are other options, This action is 2 years old...

After downloading and trialing it myself, CS6 does have issues with it, CS5 works perfectly however. Another case of Adobe being dumbasses and not allowing full retro compatibility!

Sounds scary because I downloaded CS6 last week, though it looks slick I wasn't aware of these hick ups.

RE: GraphicRiver - Photograph To Sketch Art - Photoshop Action
It's only when the actions are made to interact with the core files, some of which have slightly different names, locations or file sizes.

In this case, it is a different set of filters which work slightly differently now. CS6 is a great piece of soft, I have been with Photoshop since v11, but every update you will find things in actions or macros which no longer work correctly Smile
